Screen Printing
Best for:
Medium and large orders, orders with low number of colours, most fabrics, bulk savings.
What is screen printing?
In the printing process known as screen printing, ink is transferred onto a substrate like cloth, paper, or plastic using a mesh-covered frame called a screen. Making a stencil of the intended print design and attaching it to the screen is the first step in the procedure. The printed design is then produced by pressing ink through the mesh onto the substrate. T-shirts, posters, and other promotional goods are frequently printed with high-quality graphics and designs using screen printing, which is a common method for printing on a variety of materials. It is renowned for its sturdiness and capacity to create vivid, long-lasting prints.

Benefits of screen printing:
- Prints of exceptional quality: Screen printing is renowned for its capacity to create vivid, finely detailed prints that are resistant to fading over time. Because screen printing ink is highly pigmented, it produces vibrant colours that are both long-lasting and durable. Additionally, it is simple to modify the stencil that is used in the printing process to produce complicated designs with subtle gradients. This enables precise, high-quality prints.
- Durable: The endurance of screen printing is one of its main advantages. Because screen printing ink is highly pigmented, it resists fading and deterioration over time. Because of this, screen-printed items like t-shirts and posters are durable and strong enough to resist frequent usage and wear.
- Versatility: Screen printing is a flexible printing technique that may be applied to a variety of materials, such as fabric, paper, plastic, and metal. This makes it possible to produce a wide range of goods, from t-shirts and posters to giveaways and packaging.
- Personalization: Screen printing offers a great degree of customization due to the ease with which the intricate, complicated designs may be produced using the stencil that is utilised during the printing process. It follows that screen printing can be used to produce distinctive, one-of-a-kind goods that are customised to the particular requirements and preferences of the client.
- Economical: Screen printing is a rapid and effective way to print vast amounts of material at a low cost. This makes it a desirable choice for companies and people who want to produce high-quality goods at a reasonable cost. In addition, screen printing enables the development of prints with a high level of accuracy and detail, which can enhance the finished product’s value and appeal.
negative aspects of screen printing
Downsides of screen printing:
- The fact that screen printing frequently has a minimum order requirement of 20 units or more (we only need 10!) is a drawback. Customers that only require a few prints would not be able to employ screen printing because it is not economical for little orders, according to this. In these circumstances, consumers might be better off adopting an alternative printing technique like sublimation or DTG that is more suited to modest quantities.
- The significant upfront cost of screen printing is another possible drawback. This includes the price of the ink and other materials, as well as the setup and design expenditures for the screen. Customers who are printing a few shirts can find screen printing less alluring as a result.
- Additionally, for designs with a lot of colours, the price of screen printing can rise dramatically. The cost of printing increases with the number of colours used because each colour necessitates a unique screen and stencil. For clients that need to print artwork in a variety of colours, this may make screen printing less economically viable. Overall, these elements may deter some clients from purchasing screen printing, especially those who need to print a small number of prints or who have a tight budget.
Screen printing FAQ’s:

We can complete orders quickly for you, but a rush fee applies. Our standard turnaround time is 2 weeks. Our rush fee can shorten the time to a few days or next day (depending on order size).
What is your largest print size?
We have plenty of experience printing on large size garments, we can print up to 7XL.
What is the minimum order?
10 units
Is it possible to combine different types of garments in a single order?
Yes, it is, as long as your print stays the same.
What if I have different sizes in my order?
We can print on t-shirts in a wide range of sizes, from toddler to adult 7XL. However, as the design on the screen stays the same size, we would recommend setting up different size designs for different sized shirts, as an adult size design wouldn’t fit well on a toddler size shirt. This would incur additional screen setup costs.
What kind of ink do you use?
We are proud to say we use only water-based inks!
How long will my screen-printed shirts last?
Screenprints will often outlive the shirt, screenprinted shirts last for a long time because the ink used in the printing process is highly pigmented and resistant to fading. This means that the colours remain vibrant and bold over time, even with regular washing and wear. Additionally, screenprinted shirts are less likely to crack or peel over time, compared to other printing methods.
How do reorders of the same design work?
We can minus the screen setup fee and design fee if we have these already. We only keep screens for repeat customers or for an additional fee. Please let us know whether you want to keep your screens.
